Relatively new in town (since the first quarter of 2018), Kempers and Crowd remained outside of the radar. Maybe because they still haven’t installed a proper sign on their door front, or maybe because they were more focused on their cuisine than on their marketing, And this was indeed a good choice.
Kempers & Crowd does not try to impress you but to please you. The interior is quite minimalistic – although it’s fashion these days – but cosy. A big table in the middle can either invite strangers to get to know each other, or families to gather around a good meal. Service is very friendly but not intrusive or on the contrary not too professional. You feel at home.
Last but not least, food is what they focus on. Definitely Bavarian, it succeeds in being inventive without any strong ambition. You could call that „Bistronomy“: a mix of tradition and modernity in a casual way.
The roastbeef (17,9€) was perfectly rosa cooked, and served with crispy potatoes, roasted carrots and a nice peas creme. The „hirsch“ (16,9€) mixed flavors: sweet and salty in the beetrot and meat juice sauce , strong spicy with the celery and parsley root, all of this balanced with some cream.
This is very nice new address at Goetheplatz which on top of all won’t kill you with expensive prices. Pay a visit and advertise them as long as they are not doing it!
